Dr. Kurt Fuerstenau Dr. Kurt Fuerstenau is a 1977 graduate of OHSU School of Dentistry, spent four years as a Navy dentist, and completed his residency in San Diego, California. He has taught at OHSU Dental School part-time, holding the academic rank of assistant professor. Dr. Fuerstenau is an Oregon native, graduating from Parkrose High School. He is married to Andrea, and they have four children. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Oregon Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dentistry is both art and science. As an artist he paints landscapes and still life in watercolor. Judging scenes for light, color and value, transfers to the evaluation of a smile for color, value, and contour. He is also an avid fly fisher and flytier, who also enjoys gardening, hiking, and winemaking.
